Biography


Luc Fortier painter artist was born in Montreal in 1956. He currently lives and works in Montreal. He is an autodidact Artist. His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Canada in particular in Lachine at the Cultural Complex Guy Descary, At the Vincent D’Indy School and at the “Salon d’automne” at the Saint Hilaire Fine Art Museum. His work has also been presented abroad in 2016 at the “Musée des Cordeliers” in St Jean Angély (France) and in La Galeria dela Pigna (Palazzo Maffei Marescotti) in Rome Italy. 


In 2016 he has been awarded the 2nd Grand Prize in the "Figurative Frontier" Category at the 32nd Gala International des Arts held in Montreal, a Gold Medal in the 'Figurative Reality" Category at the CAPSQ 44th Internatioal Exhibition in Rome (Italy)and a Silver Medal in the Portrait Catégory at the CAPSQ 43rd International Exhibition at St Jean Angély (France). In 2015 he was awarded three (3) prizes, the 2nd Grand Prize in the Portrait Category at the CAPSQ 31rst International Gala Exhibition in Montreal (Canada), a Gold Medal in the Figurative Boundary Category at the CAPSQ 41rst International Exhibition in Bruges (Belgium) and the First Honorable Mention at the ‘Salon d’automne “ Exhibition at the St Hilaire Fine Art Museum (Canada).

  • First Honorable Mention at the juried Exhibition titled "150 variations on the Liberty Theme" at the St Hilaire Fine Art Museum September 2015
  • Gold Medal in the Figurative frontier Category at the 42nd International Exhibition organized by CAPSQ in Bruges  Belgium June 2015
  • 2nd Grand Prize in the portraits category at the 31rst annual juried exhibition « Gala international des Arts Visuels   Son et Lumière » CAPSQ Montreal, April 2015
